Cultural mediation

A bridge between art and the public: cultural mediation at the National Gallery was created to make the museum an increasingly accessible, inclusive, and engaging space.

Cultural mediation, launched and developed in 2018 by the Education Services of the National Gallery in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, has a dual objective: to support student training and to enhance the museum visit experience.

Cultural mediators are present every day during the museum’s opening hours and provide information about the artworks and the history of the Gallery, both in Italian and in foreign languages. They engage in dialogue with visitors, encouraging curiosity and questions.
