Works of art are not only experienced through sight: they can also evoke sounds, rhythms and movements. Through the exploration of figurative and abstract works from the collection, children will be encouraged to imagine and recreate the sounds hidden within the images, experimenting with variations in intensity, speed and rhythm through their own bodies and sound-making instruments.
The activity encourages listening skills, motor coordination and the use of different forms of expression, while fostering curiosity and active participation. In the workshop, the sounds explored during the visit will be transformed into marks, colours and shapes within a large collaborative artwork, making the group’s shared sound experience visible.
