Engaging with art, by fostering the development of creativity, helps students acquire skills that can lead to innovative solutions to everyday problems. As part of an approach to active citizenship education aimed at developing a new circular economy that prioritises reuse over waste generation, the Galleria Nazionale can provide a valuable space for exchange and reflection, supporting both individual and collective growth.
Marcel Duchamp, Ettore Colla and Andy Warhol bear witness to the emergence and development of assemblage using found objects, removing everyday items from their original function and placing them within the exhibition space. Today, Marion Baruch creates textile tapestries from salvaged materials. Through the work of artists such as Burri, Pascali and Kapoor, participants will discover how natural and artificial elements have become part of the artist’s repertoire of materials. They will then explore how past artistic practices can be brought into dialogue with contemporary concerns for environmental responsibility, reuse and waste recovery.
